Allahabad, November 5: The legal fraternity of Allahabad is celebrating the remarkable achievement of Advocate Gaurav Kakkar, who has been designated as a Senior Advocate by the Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Allahabad. The designation, conferred by the Full Court comprising 111 Hon’ble Judges, marks a milestone in Adv. Kakkar’s inspiring journey of perseverance, dedication, and resilience.
Born and raised in Allahabad, Adv. Kakkar faced immense personal challenges early in life, having lost his father at the tender age of 14. Supported by his mother’s unwavering strength and determination, he rebuilt his life step by step. He completed his law degree from ILS Law College, Pune, in 1999, and was enrolled with the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh on 22 July 1999.
Speaking about his early days in the profession, Adv. Kakkar recalls the struggle of being a first-generation lawyer with limited contacts in the legal community. “I had very few connections, no immediate work, and initially earned nothing,” he reflects. “There were days of deep frustration, but faith, hard work, and persistence kept me going.”
Despite receiving an attractive job offer from a Delhi-based law firm, Adv. Kakkar chose to remain in litigation, driven by his passion for courtroom advocacy. He began visiting district courts across Uttar Pradesh to build his independent practice, an unconventional decision at the time but one that laid the foundation for his professional success.
By 2010, his reputation as a diligent and articulate lawyer had grown, allowing him to establish a flourishing independent practice. Over the years, he has argued numerous significant matters and earned respect for his legal acumen, integrity, and commitment to justice.
On being designated as a Senior Advocate at the age of 49, Adv. Kakkar expressed his heartfelt gratitude:
“This honour is not just mine. It belongs to my mother, who stood by me through every challenge, to my teachers, mentors, and friends who believed in me, and to the Almighty who guided me throughout. I hope to live up to the responsibility that comes with this designation and to serve the cause of justice with sincerity and humility.”
