Dubai: Families in the UAE have a great option to avail discounts on shopping with Fazza Card being made available for free to UAE resident families.A special discount membership card `is being made available for free to mark the Year of Family, with discounts on cafes, hotel stays, desert safari trips and much more.Here’s how you can apply for one.What is the Fazaa Year of the Family initiative?The Fazaa card is a shopping discount card, as part of an initiative by the UAE’s Ministry of Interior. While normally, if a UAE resident would like to get the discount card, the basic Silver card costs Dh19 per month. However, fr the Year of Family, Fazaa has partnered with the UAE’s Ministry of Family to launch a community initiative granting a free Fazaa discount membership card to resident families in the UAE.It offers discounts at more than 34,000 outlets in and outside the UAE, 28,000 food and consumer products, special rates on travel and hotel packages, covering over 500,000 hotels worldwide and discounts of up to 70 per cent on entertainment tickets.Who is eligible?For UAE residents, the Fazaa Discount card is available for families with one or more child. The application process is completely online and can be completed in minutes.Documents requiredBefore you begin, ensure you have the digital copies of the Emirates ID of all family members.How to applyVisit https://www.fazaa.ae/services/view/fazaa-family-year-initiative-2026Select ‘Resident family – Apply here’.Enter your full name, email ID, emirate of residence and mobile number.Check the box agreeing to the terms and conditions. Click on ‘Submit application’.Next, upload the Emirates ID copies of each of your family members.Click on ‘submit’.You will then receive a confirmation of your application on your email address, and the card is issued within 72 working hours.
